A pencil portrait of MRS CULLEN & THE BOYS

Once again, here are the tools I use...

Introducing...my ruler! It's in for this job...

I started off with a rough sketch of the 3 figures. It is so inaccurate...

Since it involved 3 figures this time. I want to be dead accurate in proportion so I used a ruler...YES!!! A RULER!!! It must have taken me more than 4 hours to get it right. I nearly gave up...

So happy to finally make it to this stage where the shading came in... a 2B pencil used for the job. I started off with the left figure since I'm right handed. It prevents fatal smudging.

My favorite step...the tortillion bringing the shadings to life.

Here's the figure in 2B pencil shading...

I'm also very thrilled to see how the 4B and 6B pencils can darken and bring features out...

Time to work on the center figure...

Here it is in 2B pencil shading...

After the 4B and 6B did their magic, it's time to work on the last figure...

More tortillion blending...

Always interesting to compare the tone difference in 2B and the other darker pencils...

The final picture...

Another work for my friend afordite

....and Nicole, I hope you like my 'chipmunks'!!!

This picture must have taken me more than 24 hours to complete, spread across 2 weeks...I lost track of time because it has been an awfully busy 2 weeks for me...T___T

Wish I have more time to concentrate on doing arts...

Hope you like it!
